Kyrgyzstan is an other country in Central Asia that has startling similarity with Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan has post Soviet Union strongman and we have post colonial strongman, Kyrgyzstan has US military base and we have US military base too, Kyrgyzstan has the father of the x-Soviet Union and we have former colonial master in our backyard, the French and Russian both have strategic interest in their former entity respectively, they don’t feel comfortable with miss-guided Yankee around the corner.
The major concern, though, was the evolution of the regime in Kyrgyzstan into a personal fiefdom of the Bakiyev family. Bakiyev has six brothers and two sons, and they are all active in public life. The belief of some was that ridding the country of the Bakiyev “clan” would set right the ship of state. it much similar of the Guellehs’ and minority domination in Djibouti’s political and economical landscape.
Early last year, Russia gave Kyrgyzstan $2 billion in assistance. The same day Bakiyev announced, from Moscow, that the Western airbase near Bishkek would be closed. French government doubled its obligation to Djiboutian government perhaps for the same reason as Russian.
The outcome may turn out to be the same, the French already got dissolution about Guelleh affair of BEERKA JECLIYAA-XAYDHA JECLIYAA and French has shown that they are inclined to back up the opposition group, if the volatile situation changes suddenly they will be too quick to fully back the opposition as the Russian did in Kyrgyzstan.
