It has been an accustomed scenario that the so-called third-world countries have been the only victims of the austerity measures imposed World Bank and its sister International Monitory Fund IMF. But now-a-days ironically the collaborators have faced the same agony that their Third-World counterpart have been struggling for past four decades or so.
One of the main architects of those wicked policies was Robert McNamara; the former US defence secretary during Vietnam War, Mr. McNamara insisted that war should go on despite the staggering human cost and growing public opposition.
Amazingly, Robert McNamara the war criminal just like many of his successors was rewarded for his bad deeds and he was appointed to the president of World Bank despite a disgraceful credentials. Mr. McNamara has killed more Third-World population with a stroke of a pen and his rootless policies indirectly created mini-wars in many regions from around the world.
Mr. McNamara wrote a book three decades later in which he said “The Vietnam-War was wrong “without ever formally apologizing to the victims of that war American and Vietnamese alike. His book became the best sellers and he is regarded as war hero until today.
Robert McNamara’s ancestral land, Ireland is the last country that went under although there will many more to joint. Mr. McNamara’s ancestral land not only under indirect control of World Bank and IMF but also his policies that he engineered has to be dealt accordingly which might be at time painful.
Already the sign of economic distress is showing off, due to the economic hardship since Irish potato famine it’s not uncommon to see in the street of Dublin lots baggers a signs that are synonymous with streets of the so-called Third World.
